Tide Rite R855 Mullet Rigs are used for fishing whole fresh or frozen mullet to target species such as Striped Bass and Bluefish on the East Coast. The best time to fish a Mullet Rig is during the annual Fall Mullet Run! Easy to use and easy to fish. These R855 Mullet Rigs by Tide Rite come pre rigged with wire leader, Mustad hook, and a three-way snap swivel to connect your weight and main line. Also features an oval float to keep the mullet off the bottom and swimming in the current to look like a live baitfish. To use: remove the hook, and run the metal skewer like rig through the mouth and out the anal vent. Then slide the bait down towards the hook inserting one of the two hook points into the mullet's tail. This way when the fish picks up the bait, it strikes the tail of the mullet and engulfs the hook.
